Data protection

In 2018, new regulations began relating to protecting the information you share with us. This is known as GDPR.

The type of data we need to collect from you: Your name, address, age, telephone number, date of birth, GP surgery, medical conditions, medication you are taking, details of your next of kin in case of emergency, allergies.

These details are recorded on your treatment card which can only be accessed by our staff. Your name, address & telephone details are also stored in a secure database. When you first attend for treatment, we will ask for your written consent to record these details and also to update them where necessary at subsequent visits. Should we ever need to refer you on to another health professional, we will always ask your permission first and fully explain why we need to do so. Should you refuse to give permission/any of the information listed above we reserve the right to terminate your treatment.

As health providers, we legally have to retain this documentation for eight years after your death or for eight years after your death after you have reached the age of eighteen. This information will then be securely disposed of.
